The Thule works great, holds two mountain bikes and my canoe. Sings a bit in the wind but not too bad and much quieter than the Front Runner rack I had on a previous Land Rover.

The front runner was pretty loud? My rhino rack pioneer rack makes a little road noise but not too bad

I had a Front Runner on my LR Discovery I. It never sat perfectly straight, was loud, was just a bit too short to hold my Autohome RTT and the corner hardware rusted very quickly. Front Runner was excellent though, tried to help, then offered a discount which I took and sold the rack on to someone else. I've always found Thule works well for my application; bikes, canoes, carrying lumber, etc.

Went back to 285s from 315’s. The FJ is much happier.

2012 Tacoma TRD OR, stone stock, 30k on the clock (bought in early 2017 with just under 4k on the on odo!) Here she is on her maiden voyage to Baja. Picked up a used Snugtop shell for cheap, built out the ubiquitous sleeping platform and headed south for nearly 3 weeks (just before starting a new job!). GFC camper coming in Sept/Oct and planning Baja again in Dec/Jan!

Cheers,
DJM

Wow that’s crazy the corner hardware started to rust. I’ve been looking hard into Front runner because I’d like to get one. But because of their price I went with rhino rack pioneer rack
