Shovel location Jeep Wrangler JL.

I bought a Krazy beaver shovel and mounted in the back of my cargo area. I want to see what you guys got. Throwing ideas around maybe I change the location.

I don't know if Retrofit Offroad has released it yet, but if they haven't they will be selling a universal mounting grid for the tailgate hinges. This is a photo of a prototype holding a military shovel with QuickFist clamps. It's a lot smaller than your Beaver shovel but you could mount your shovel to this grid. I believe the production grid will be done in black powdercoat, this prototype was unpainted at the time of the photo. Might be nice to have an outside mount like this for the shovel, if you have to use the shovel to dig yourself out of mud you may not want to put the shovel back in the Jeep.

That looks pretty awesome system. I think it could be a great mount for the outside of the rig. I e need smaller shovel for restroom use and set up small fires sometimes.

I strap my shovel to the spare tire of my JK using bicycle toe straps. (Those who rode in the days before clipless pedals know what those are. lol)
Keeps a dirty shovel out of my vehicle and as mentioned, more accessible if needed for other than campsite use.

The Retrofit mounting grid is part of a system for JL tailgates that starts with a set of mounting brackets - these brackets provide the same bolt spacing that exists on JK tailgates so pretty much any accessory designed to bolt to JK tailgate hinges can be installed on the JL.

For example, this hilift carrier is a JK product but bolts right up to the brackets.
