Short(er) Recovery Rope

Looking for a shorter 10' to 12' recovery rope

1/2" to 3/4" diameter

Like the Bubba Ropes I guess

Loops need to have the durable protective abrasion sleeves

Any help where to look?

the length is what makes them work
kinetic energy stored and released, you need some length to make it work
you need the distance to keep from being rear ended

a recovery strap is not a tow strap which should be static, not kinetic

how are you using this 10' long strap ??

Ok better to double a thirty then. I have no idea why he wants just a 10'. One may not be able to (or want to) get that close.

straps, chains, cables are all built engineered designed to pull a certain parameter of weight,
when you double up on a kinetic recovery strap you are cutting in half what they are designed to do.....

the opposite of doubling a winch cable thru a snatch block

Not that I've been above folding a rope or strap in half in a pinch but expecting to do this regularly isn't an ideal solution. This is doubling the effective diameter so the amount of stretch you get is reduced and with such a short length it makes for a more abrupt yank.

So it's either sized right for normal single line use that's oversized then or you buy something undersized that can only be used doubled.

It's not some super secret process to make a recovery rope from nylon stock so a custom splice shop like a forestry or marine supply would have been my thought, too.
