This thread is awesome! So much valuable info. Ive been looking for an Xventure XV2 or 3 within my budget for awhile now. I missed out on a super clean, well equipt XV2 last spring for $10,000 that I'm seriously kicking myself for. Total bummer.
Unfortunately with COVID the prices for trailers has gone up considerably. That being said you can still find good deals out there if you keep a lookout and are patient. In addition to this forum, Craigslist is a good place to watch and you can use sites like https://www.searchtempest.com/ that will let you search CL in multiple markets at once which is handy when looking for something like an Xventure.

Ok- I am in! Thanks to Jim at OK4WD for working through the build order. Have pulled the trigger and am headed into the build queue. Looks like a 12 week lead btw- longer than I hoped for but aren't we all getting used to being more patient than we were.... (Who am I kidding, yesterday would be an awesome delivery date!)

Anyway, looking forward to contributing here and thanks to all for the advice and info.

Question for you trailer pros, I built a hose/sprayer that connects to the water tank on the trailer and I use it to wash stuff off and general activities that would require water. Typically I will only turn the pump on when using and will turn off when finished, but I'm heading to Lake Powell this weekend and with all the sand I would like to be able to wash our feet off before getting in the RTT. Do you think it would be a problem to leave power on to the pump all night since it really only activates when pressure lowers or can that hurt it?

I always remember to turn the pump off, because every now and again I hear the pump cycle for less than 30 seconds when I've left it on. So it will draw some power. So it all depends on your need for electricity and what you have for battery capacity. The only way to know for sure is do a few tests while you are at home. I would start with full batteries and batteries at 3/4 or half capacity (and turn on anything you would normally have on, i.e. fridge, etc.) and see how much it drains (from the batteries) over night. That would give you a good basis to know if your setup can handle it. It would suck, to go out camping and test it then and have no water or electricity the next day.

I have a dual battery setup and no fridge so I would assume power won't be an issue. That is a good idea to test at home just to see how much it draws overnight. You don't see an issue with the pump itself being on all night in terms of excess wear?

I can't imagine it would be much wear on it, it would be completely different if it was actually pumping water the whole time.

Hey there! We got an XV-2 a recently via. 99 West Trailers. We had been waiting since last fall for the production run to finish, so glad it got here in time for summer. I'm still setting things up and we did one shake down trip last weekend. Some things I'm still working on inlcude:
a) How to best get the water tank full and use all the water with the trailer still level? I think part of this is realizing how easy it is not to use too much water fast.
b) How to hook up a 2-burner camp stove that's not the Partner Steel brand, we have an older Brunton Profile that we'd like to keep using. I think I'm going to get a Camp Chef replacement flexible connection hose and remove the regulator that comes on it and swap in the 3/8" quick connect threded to a hose barb secured with ferrule clamp to the Camp Chef flexible connection hose. Thougths?
c) How to deal with the RTT anex covering up the lights on the pasnager side of the trailer. Thoughts?
d) How/what to run for power and lights up to the RRT.

I already got the nylon tipped SS set screws to keep the verticals from rattling/shaking when in the RTT.

I also got a hitch adapter to allow the RIGd Supply Ultra-Swing Mega-Fit to work on the back and still let the tailgate down. See photos at bottom of this post.

It's kept from wobbeling since I drilled and tapped two new holes in the solid receiver shaft and the bolted it into the XV-2 rear reciver.

I have the XV-3 and it been great using here Southern California.
A. There will always be left over water inside the tank, but I have had problems with water running out, since we do water conservation.
B. I have the same issues with the Cook partner and found a way to permanently run it it along the same line as water heater, also installed an igniter on the Cook parter 2 burner stove.
C. I bought a light strip from amazon using the cigarette lighter outlet to power the strip lights to the Annex and Inside the CVT RTT. I also have one for my 270 OVS awning.

No rattle on my RTT for me.

It's kept from wobbeling since I drilled and tapped two new holes in the solid receiver shaft and the bolted it into the XV-2 rear reciver.

@03tahoe, congratulations on the new trailer! I have an XV-3 and agree it sucks the Rigid rack lights on the passenger side have very little value when the Annex is on, but still like them when the Annex is off and even when the lights have been on for an hour, they haven't heated up to cause damage to the Annex fabric. As far as power in the RTT, my CVT has USB / LED lighting integrated on the top pole so I run the power cord down the rear rack post and plug into one of the rear 12v outlets and it works great. I've also run a cord from the front box/inverter up to the tent thru the pivot section that opens up from inside the tent to the outside.

Just took delivery of my XV3 Deluxe this morning. Pics still to come. But I was looking at the manual provided and it's an XV2 manual. Does anyone have a PDF or location online for the XV3 manual, or did they just not do an updated manual?
 
I asked Tim at Schutt about that a couple months ago. He told me their XV-3 manual was outdated and it was best to reference the manufacturer manual supplied for each system or part you have a question about.

Just got word that my XV3 is headed our way next week. Excited for sure- just back from 6 weeks/6k miles with 2 adults and two dogs in a 2 door... looking forward to the flexibility!

I have a XV3 that I purchased used. The water heater is damaged and wondered if anyone has replaced one. I do not have the specs or factory diagrams of how the propane and water lines are routed to the water heater.

Is the unit actually damaged or simply not working? I ask because mine has been a little finicky as of late so if it's not working I'm happy to give some tips to get it up and running again.
