Unfortunately no. All short box trucks have a 26 gallon tank, while long ones have a 36 gallon tank.

Front shocks finally arrived. Nothing fancy, just replaced the Bilstein 5100’s with the same.
I looked in my service notebook, my old shocks I installed 134k miles ago in late 2012!

Also...I found these nifty little replacement hinges for my back windows on eBay. They’re sized slightly different to pull the window closed tighter, so they seal wind noise and water out better.

We got a wild hair and decided to hop in the truck on short notice for a good old fashioned Grizwald roadtrip.
With the rig all freshened up with new brakes, shocks, and steering box...we left Payson, AZ and headed north towards Moab and on to Colorado since we'd never been.
Some notes from the trip...

-US Route 191 is a rough road through the Navajo nation. Rattles your teeth. I'll be skipping it in the future, but it gets nice around the Bluff area.
-Moab was much like Disneyland or some other tourist-y type vacation place, very crowded, and it was a Wednesday. We figured it's likely the wrong time of year for us to visit and do much exploring so we'll go back when the weather cools down and see if that helps. Decided to keep on truckin'...
-Took the 128 along the Colorado River making our way towards Grand Junction, CO. Beautiful drive. We'll be back to this area when our camper is done to spend more time.
-Popped into a little town west of Grand Junction called Fruita and got some really good fish tacos and fried pickles at a spot called Sud's Brewery. Little market next door had some good road snacks for the cooler.
-On to Grand Junction where we spent the night. Neat town! Visited the Hill People Gear store on Main St which was great. I use a lot of their packs/gear which have been the most well thought out/comfortable pack designs I've ever come across. It was a treat to check out their HQ. The Rockslide brewery a few doors down has great burgers and pizza.
-From Junction we drove the 50 South to the 550, also known as the Million Dollar Highway. Gorgeous drive through some really fantastic country. Stayed overnight in an old mining town called Ouray. Great place! Ate some braised short rib and elk bolognese pasta at a place called Brickhouse 737. Damn good food. The Outlaw is a great bar to stop in for a beer or food as well.
-The drive from Ouray to Silverton, CO along the "Million Dollar Hwy" is wild. Waterfalls around every bend. We found tons of spots to camp when we return with our camper. Scouted a lot of places for fly fishing and hiking/antler shed hunting. Can't wait to get back there.
-After spending some time in Silverton, CO (spotted a really cool old Avion truck camper) we decided to head back to home. Took the 550 down to Durango(infested with hoards of filthy hippies) West to Cortez and south through Shiprock into Gallup, NM.
Finally west into AZ making our way back home to Rim Country.

We had a blast...truck ran great...onto the next adventure!

We're bad at remembering to take photos but we're working on it. Here's a few though...

Oh nooooo ? Guess it's better to have found it now that you're back than to have to be doing the repairs out there in the middle of who knows where.. hah.

Update:
Truck has been good!
CV axle replaced.
Took a little drive recently and found some wild mushrooms.
Also found a foundation of an old cabin and about 40 yards away some other ruins…not sure what it was but maybe a well? Looks like it had a roof at some point…

Got home and a couple parts were waiting…

Hellwig sway bar and a wheel for my spare.
Local tire shop is on the search for a single Cooper AT3 XLT but it looks like they’re out everywhere. I’ll feel a little better carrying a full size spare.

I’m looking pretty close at a rear Buckstop bumper with swing away tire carrier. Gonna chat with them about the possibility of adding camper tie-down receivers integrated to the ends of the bumper.
Since the Buckstop rear bumper also replaces the hitch receiver…it would be my bumper/hitch receiver/rear camper tie-down receiver & tire carrier all-in-one unit that bolts to the frame.
Although the tire carrier would be removed whenever the camper is mounted….
We’ll see…

I got my Hellwig insta a few months ago, it was little fiddly getting everything lined up, but once everything was lined up, all went well.

How’d you like it?
I’m still a ways away from loading a camper on the truck, but I may install it just to see how it handles empty.
Kinda wish I got the front Hellwig to replace the factory hollow bar too.
Some folks prefer the way these trucks ride with them and it seems some hate it.
