RRS 2018+ Steering Wheel buttons retrofit

So finally the awful weather cleared up and I got around to fitting the touch steering wheel controls that I had ordered from EuroActive (https://euroactiveparts.com/).

Pretty straightforward process, even for someone as DIY-deficient as me, what with my 3 left thumbs. The most difficult part is actuall getting the screws off the paddles, I left my steering wheel skew when I parked to make it easier to access these.

First step was to disconnect the battery, then have a cuppa while waiting for everything to discharge.

Removing the airbag was very easy, just need to find the spring with a flat screwdriver.

Then, leaving the old controls as they are, I proceeded by replacing each plug from the old loom with ones from the new loom, so that I wouldn't get anything wrong.

Once that was done, I swapped the controls over. I then reconnected the battery (with airbag still removed) and went for a quick drive to test everything.

Once I got back, I disconnected the battery again, taped the new bits of the new loom to the back of the steering wheel, and then reattached the paddles and airbag.

Reconnected the battery, and tested again.

All in all, 2 and a bit hours, with a few tea breaks in between.

Only comment from the Mrs was 'How bling...' :ROFLMAO:
