I bolted them to frame in cas wine we wanted to easily remove them. Welding is also an option.
Pictures are from front, middle, and rear points.A8CA9C27-1197-4636-8878-9CB180F128AF.jpeg04CBD254-8AD2-4E40-A4CF-7890B8EBF543.jpeg8BB99BE4-ECAF-4A53-9FE3-87CEE01B3186.jpegA8CA9C27-1197-4636-8878-9CB180F128AF.jpeg04CBD254-8AD2-4E40-A4CF-7890B8EBF543.jpeg

I'm Getting Around To It
Trail Gear, all the way, and they're always less expensive on Amazon or EBay than by going to Trail Gear's site. I cannot seem to damage mine, and we have big rocks in AZ. The steel is unbelievably tough. I'd suggest they be welded on for the highest durability, and I also suggest getting the little triangle gussets they sell to reinforce the right angle mounting point where the attachment legs join to the frame. The above pictures in the previous post does not have them, as they would be visible where the round tube is welded to the "L" shaped bracket that is bolted to the frame.

I have not yet put any of their items on a Gen 1, and nothing they sell will fit a SWB/Two door...as manufactured. We have a set to try, but they will have to be shortened in some way by a few inches. I'll have to coerce Toasty into making the decision about how to handle that.

As with anything related to a modification, installation is the key. Careful planning will allow the installer to vary how far the sliders stick out sideways and the angle at which they sit, so work with whomever is doing the fab work so you get what you want.
