Reworking an older slide-in camper

I've been chewing on a few different ideas for a camping setup for my crewcab shortbed super duty. One idea is one that has been discussed a few times: mounting a popup tent trailer on the bed of the truck to make a custom popup camper. The other idea is the one I've been thinking about most right now, and that is to use an older Chinook slide-in (10-11') and rework it for a shortbed.

The rough idea being to rebuild the body shorter (for the shortbed on the truck) and extend the overcab portion, retaining the original fiberglass roof piece. Not sure how clear that is, but any thoughts on the feasability?

I think it could be done fairly easy. You would not be adding or patching any of the siding, it looks like you would be just shortening the siding and mainly working with plywood.
