Return to the Mayan Jungle

Tomorrow I embark on a return trip into the Mayan Jungle of Peten, Guatemala, a 4x4er's paradise that includes all of the elements and challenges of extreme adventure riding. Each day will involve about 20 kilometers (appx. 12.5 miles) of 4x4ing that can take between 4-6 hours to complete. The destination at each of these trails will land you at the base of Mayan ruins surrounded by howler monkeys, exotic birds, jaguars and much more. May/June is the start of the rainy season in Guatemala, which can mean some miserable winching in heat ranging up to 39C. My tour will finish at Semuc Champey before returning to Quetzaltenango. Should be quite the adventure! But I simply can't wait!

Getting the troll all cleaned up before my departure...
