Hello, I'm looking for a way to digitally record/map/track roads driven. Not necessarily record my track as it happens but to highlight and save roads already traveled. Any help is appreciated.
If you have a garmin; it has a setting to store where you have been and you can export that with basecamp. Basically when you get to certain points press and hold the vehicle icon and save that location then once you put it into basecamp there will be stars (I think) everywhere you went. I personally use Gaia gps and record the tracks then just export it to my MacBook Pro into basecamp. Once I have a gpx file I can do whatever I with the data. Just a suggestion.
I record tracks while I'm on them with Backcountry Navigator then export the tracks to Google "My Maps"
My Maps also allows you to just add routes to maps if the roads are driveable. But I use BCNav for those really remote tracks that don't show up as roads in google's database.
