Brady's Rocks. Eagle, Wisconsin.

Though I rarely see it in any other woods around the area, Hepatica grows in abundance here on the forest floor among the limestone. Along with the flowering silver maples, these early little blooms signify that spring is near.

Had a full day off saturday so I took some friends to a waterfall about 35 miles north of town, it's a nice little walk up a canyon to see it, nice to finally GTF out of town.

Glad to see at least some water coming down Falls Canyon, dry as it's been this year. Year or so ago when I went up there I had to stick to the upper slopes as the stream was so wide and boisterous there was no way to hike the bottoms without fording water that was knee-high.

It was pretty wet at the crossings down stream, good to see now because the lack of snowpack up high makes me think it will be dry in a few months.
