When I bought this truck it came with the 20” OEM wheel, but rubbed slightly in the front at full lock. Found a set of OEM 17” limited wheels, which originally came on the truck back in 2012.

Painted them Dupli Color Graphite and put on the Cooper 285/75/17.

I think it turned out really good, plus eliminated any rubbing at full lock.

17” looks better. Beefier. More truck like.

If you go 20”, be sure to plaster the back window with green “M” stickers and take up vaping.

I always loved that style rims, plus your color you painted them looks awesome. I have found on the newer radius arm trucks a 17 inch wheel fits but you got to be very careful where you put the wheel weights as they will hit the calipers.

Those tires don't have enough load capacity for the rear axle weight rating of 7000#. They are borderline for the front axle rating of 6000#. There's a reason 17s aren't available on the current SRW 3500s. You just knocked your one ton down to a 3/4 ton.

Also, make sure you inflate the fronts to 80psi rather than the stock rating of 65. 65psi in those tires won't carry the load.

?? Just went to the build page and 17’s are available. 3500, SRW. (Edit: looks like they are for DRW, although I hadn’t SRW selected.)

Same with F350.

This is a 2012 Ram 3500. Stock tire was a 265/70/17. It is has a max load rating of 3195 pounds. The tire I am using is the 285/75/17 and it also has a max load rating of 3195. Not sure I understand what you are saying????

Front axle is 5500 and rear axle is 6200.

Gotcha. 2013 and up have a rear axle rating of 7000# and the stock tires are Load Index 124.

I'll leave my comment in case some guy with a 4th gen truck comes across this thinking he can do the same thing.

Good job on the rims. Perfect color on the stocks.

The Ford has lower axle ratings than the Ram, I think. As you found 17s are a no go for the SRW 3500 Ram.
17’s are ok with a certain tire, I’m running the Toyo mt with a 4300 pound rating. I think it’s also worth mentioning that 17 inch wheels on a 13+ 3500 or 14+ 2500 can and will cause the wheel weights to hit the calipers if your not careful. I run balance beads with these raceline wheels.
