Rebuilt the hubs with new bearings and seals. Assembled the hubs, axles and brake rotors. Installed the shock brackets and brake lines. And that diff cover HAS to be worth at least 20hp!! Hahaha

Just went through all 5 pages and man what a great build you are doing. Cannot wait to see it completed.

Where in NC are you? I am in Spring Lake NC.

Thanks - North Raleigh area.

A buddy came by last night and we got the Modified B-code springs installed. Dang those things are heavy!

Teaser! Wheels and tires have arrived! 20x10s

I ordered bolt-in metal stems rated at 130psi. Torque only to 40inlbs then double nut them.

Also moving the X into this decade with TPMS. This one will monitor the truck, trailer and spares for pressure and temperature.

Nice, not that far a way from each other. Let me know if you want to get together.

Let me know how that tire monitoring system works out for you. I been looking for something for my 2006 ram to monitor my tire pressure.

The slowest project known to mankind continues! ?

Let's replace the rear bump stops - I reckon we got our money out of them. ?

Kinda looking like a Hotrod!

Time to start the front!!

Not sure how others manage, but here's my method to removing rivets that hold the brackets in place. Cut a cross in the head with a 1/16" cutoff wheel, chisel the head off with the air hammer, drive the rivet out with a punch and big hammer.

Almost done with the other side - including the trackbar bracket.

Looking forward to rolling the front axle under there!

At this point how much harder would it be to put coils on it? My 06 is so much nicer to drive than my 01 f250.

We'd have to backup a bit from this point - but for me it wasn't a matter of it being harder. I seriously considered the 05+ swap at the beginning. There are lots of threads discussing pros/cons. For me, this was the right solution. The truck is not a DD or a rock crawler. I'm not going with big, wide tires. It's nice to source all the parts from a single donor. Besides, I like that the diesel rumbles and it rides like a truck. Haha!
