Price drop. 1997 FZJ80 triple locked Landcruiser

I am picking up my new rig tomorrow, so i have dropped my price.
Having put in for my retirement pension and selling most of our vehicles here in Montana. Just sold my custom built Suzuki Sidekick off roader and I havnt told my wife that most of our other cars gotta go to.
I have put almost 100,000 miles on it over the last 8 years. 273k miles on the clock, we just purchased a 2008 rig to build out for overlanding along with I'm in current in talks with 4Wheel 24 Terra-exp in Florida to purchase a new German Unimog expedition camper. We are going to sell the farmstead and travel.
Most people can take a car to a detail shop before taking photos. I dont need to do anything except show all the exterior flaws. Our daughter slide out on the snow and put it on its side 6 years ago and USAA insurance totaled it and I bought it back from them. I didnt fix the damage to the drivers fender or the passenger running board and I slightly beat out the rear quarter panel and put a new drivers mirror in it and keep it the way it was.
Having owned a couple Landcruiser wagons over the past 40 years it is the driest engine i have ever owned. I bought a new TOYOTA PVC Hose kit to address the small oil leak on top of the valve cover but never installed it.
Being a 3rd generation pilot and aircraft engineer I change the oil every 1000 to 1500 miles and am pretty anal on preventative maintenance. Oil is the cheapest insurance you can ever buy.
It has never let me down or given me problems. I use it as a fishing and camping rig and have a custom canvas calvary tent that fits on the entire back of the rig.
We have years of exploring and camping northwest Montana driving fire roads and dropping our custom made "scanoe fishing boat" into lakes that others could only dream about.

It has all the standard attribues of your standard cheap Toyota metal. Lots of small rust spots everywhere coming thru the white paint. Mostly on the rear tailgate lid. I had our Toyota dealership put a front windshield in with new gasket 3 years ago and they DID NOT USE the toyota field service manual to install the windshield as they said they would. Never let rookies put in a landcruiser windshield is the moral of the story.
I took the sheepskin seat covers off for the first time since I owned it to take pictures, so the cracks in the leather are as shown in the photos.
The middle seats have been stored in the back of my bedroom closet since i bought it and are still in the closet and come with the sale.
A few years ago the check engine light came on and the code said EGT PROBES. so i bought two EGT probes from Toyota and reset the check engine light, the EGT probes are still setting on my work bench and never been installed.
The carpet is stained and the tires could be replaced.
It has a little oil leak on the drivers hub and could use some new seals or attention.
I backed into the garage and the back tailgate has a couple dents.
THE GOOD...

Starts every time I ever put the key in the ignition, it gets great gas mileage on fire roads at 30 miles an hour.
It has held 23 sheets of plywood with the tailgate shut. Its got a high end Bluetooth stereo with oversized speaker crammed into the holes.
It has lockers and is the last year Toyota Landcruiser with the straight 6cyl engine and solid front axel.
I never thought i would be selling my Iron Pig, but i also never thought my wife would be letting me look at buying a 400k unimog motorhome either.
THE BAD....
TOYOTA MAKES LOUSY METAL and it shows.
Our daughter rolled it up on its side in a snowstorm.
The fender has wrinkles and so does the rear quarter panel, the back tail gate has two dents and rust spots and a map of the United States on who voted for who?
Ive got 3 volvos and a TDI WAGON to sale and a 1 ton van and a 115 year old farmstead to sale just outside the gates of glacier national park.
I fish up in the mountains just about everyday so bear with me on answering questions or getting back to anyone trying to contact me.
Kip.willis.61(at)gmail.com

Asking $6500.00 from $7500.00 dollars and no real hurry needed to sell it,
Also it is being advertised locally in Kalispell Montana.
Thanks for putting up with my long winded bad typing

So Toyota metal is lousy because after a rollover (that apparently kept your daughter safe) the fender, quarter panel and tail gate have a couple dents? :ROFLMAO:

I had 4 toyotas continously since the 70's.
I love my Toyota's, but most everyone into cars who owns or rebuilds them? knows that the Japanese cars weak links are the metal used and paint prep before assembly and thier glass and rubber manufacturing process, not much compares to the American vehicles. Ask anyone who restores landcruisers of old FJ's. Youd be hard pressed to fimd a 30 or 40 year old landcruiser that has no rust. Ive had 13 studebakers in 50 years and not hardly an issue.
Im not beating up on toyota's, just know thats a weak link.
I think landcruisers are far superior to 95% of all 4x4's on the road. Thats why I've owned them since 1976.
I love my iron pigs.

I was going to say the same thing. You’d be hard pressed to find any vehicle that’s 40 years old that doesn’t have rust on it.
