I know it's not a big deal for y'all but it is for me:

First time changing my own oil in 20 years I think. I can't remember the last time. Dad and I used to do it all the time growing up. "Turning owners into mechanics" is right, I saw a bunch of things under there I wanted to work on.

BTW, my factory sump guard only had four bolts, and I was missing the front part! Pretty upset the pre-buy garage didn't catch that. Aftermarket ones are certainly not cheap.

Edit: forgot to mention, learned from others to go with
K&N wrench off oil filter
Fumoto oil plug drain valve
Will make the next one easy. Filter had very light leak because it wasn't tight enough.

Love those wheels.
Replacement bolts aren't too hard to source from Atlantic British-but since you are missing the little front part I'd suggest reaching out to one of the folks that are parting them out and just get pricing for the plate and a whole bunch of used bolts. I mean, if you are going to be turning wrenches may as well turn into a vulture like the rest of us too!

Fumoto is a great upgrade-ironically my truck was up on the exact same kind of ramps for an impromptu oil change in the driveway a few weeks ago and that upgrade, in particular, really makes it easy.

We spent last weekend running around in the Uwharrie National Forest with about 100 Land Rovers with a few Jeeps and other vehicles mixed in. Pics are here: https://solaros1.smugmug.com/Land-Rover-Events/UWHARRIE-FALL-2018-URE15/

Sump guard bolts should be very inexpensive . I have a few drawers of M5-6-8-10-12-14 etc dif heads lengths etc. grade 8 and stainless. You’ll find it’s not a bad idea to just replace rusty ones every so often anyway.

First time offroading in this LR3 and first time for me ever in a civilian vehicle. Lots of fun, and the truck did great. Any issues I had were user error. "Green" trails + two weeks of steady rain = much more difficult trails. A dirt, rock and grass tail becomes deep mud ruts and a hidden swamp.

This was at Northwest OHV park in Bridgeport, TX. Great place.
