Been lurking a few weeks and picking up some good info and ideas. Here's my 1998 Bigfoot 2500, and I just picked up a 97 Bigfoot 1500 9.6 that need a little work. I'm thinking the 1500 weights considerably less so might do better on our Alaskan highways and off road.uploadfromtaptalk1443587921250.jpg

This is my first truck camper and I for sure went to big. Living in it full time right now so the extra space is nice but not necessary. Unfortunately this big beast would probably have done better on a dually but you make do with what you have. Looking to upgrade tires to something with a stiffer sidewall. Not sure whats next, I would like to eventually get a setup that I would actually trust going down something other than maintained gravel roads and pavement.

Oil eater.
A larger than stock Hellwig swaybar and specially valved shocks work wonders.
Even Rancho 9000's would help heaps.
And yeah,80 psi e rated tires will work.

Here's a pic of our Northern Lite. We moved from a 4WC to a hitop van to this. Really enjoying:
Reliability of Tacoma and 4x4.
Not popping the roof
Permanent bed, (no slide out and full time access to stove and sink)
Warmth

We really have no issue with the height or weight. We take it slow and don't have any trips planned for Baja, but I'd take this set up there with little concern.

But, we've begun our search for a Casita so this will be up for sale once we find one. Might take a year.
