This thread will be part build thread, part picture thread, kind of an adventure diary.

I have been meaning to create a build thread for my JK for a while now, but never got around to it until now. I'll start with a little backstory… I bought my 2013 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited on May 6th 2014 of last year with 16K miles, it came with a factory soft top, and eagle alloy wheels rocking 35" tires (no lift). I guess it's safe to say, but my intentions all along from the get-go were not to build a hardcore rock crawler, rather an Overlander (adventure travel and exploration) type of Jeep for now. Can't say I won't change my mind.

Sure seems like it, last pic (Mojave Desert) was a convoy of 60 Jeeps, and I was the only dune.

You have half doors on your dune? Post a pic, I've been wanting to see one with half doors.

Picked up my AEV hood today from my local body shop. Hopefully I'll get a chance later in the week to install it, should go on easily.

Made a quick stop by the dealer on my way home, snagged a pair of "Rubicon" hood decals. I hope I don't screw this up ($42pc), I suck at installing decals.

So last week I installed my AEV Heat Reduction Hood (straightforward install), and I can honestly say what a difference, it really makes the JK stand out even more, especially from the inside driver view. I am very happy with the results and the quality of the painting (color match was about 98-99 percent, I’m OK with that). I know there's plenty of AEVs Heat Reduction Hood photos out there, but a few more won't hurt.

Thanks bud! Not to sure regarding the snorkel, I will have to wait for the Trinity River to flood frequently to consider it (lol). I don't remember, did you paint your Jeep emblem?
