Pajero mk1- build (from POLAND)

Very exciting build! Looking great.

I would greatly appreciate a closeup picture of that mechanical fuel pump you have on your motor.

I'm going to be installing a stainless steel straight-through exhaust. Here's a little preview. The exhaust will be welded after putting the bodywork on the frame.
Pipe thickness 2".

Thanks for the pics. I've got the non-turbo version of the 4D56 on my MK1 and have been looking at add a turbo. I believe there are some differences in the engine such as oil squirters for the backs of the cylinders, oil lines for the turbo, and this boost compensator you can see on top of your fuel pump. Curious if that can bolt on to my pump or if I need a whole different pump.

I reworked the rear brake lines. I put a tee in the middle of the bridge, and the brake force regulator landed under the hood.
I made the air vents of the bridges from polyurethane hoses with a quick coupler. I also used such lines as fuel lines.
These lines are used in trucks as air lines.

The frame from the inside has been protected with a special wax.

Ultimately, I want to swap the Mercedes OM605960 engine

recently I've been debating on swapping to a TDI at some point. Something about a 20-30 year younger motor with double the power output sounds nice.

you can get a bmw diesel with 2x the power of the tdi and they make standalone ecu's for the BMW engines, however in america you might have some fun finding all the parts.
google m57 swap pajero and m57 standalone ecu and you'll get more info (m57 is one of the common BMW diesels around the world)

tdi swap would definitely be easier though
