Hello, I would like to show you my Pajero Mk1 2.5TD from 1988 and show its transformation.
The car will be used for driving in light terrain and for traveling with my family as an expedition car.
My dad helped me with the whole project - for which I am very grateful.

I invite you to follow the progress in the construction of the car. I want to share my solutions, maybe they will be useful to someone. We start...

This is what the car looked like right after I bought it.

PS: Sorry for the spelling, I'm using a translator.

I decided to start my project by disassembling the car into prime factors.
After disassembly, it turned out that the frame was so rotten that it was not worth repairing it. I decided to look for a new frame for my car.

Two months of intensive searching and we managed to buy a functional and healthy frame.

After the story with the car frame, I thought that nothing worse could happen to me. But it was different. The body of the car was also in poor condition.:cry::cry:?

STAGE I. Reconstruction of the bodywork.

In the first phase of the reconstruction, I decided to cut out the rotten sheet metal.

Thank you for showing us your car. I had a Dodge Raider which is basically the same vehicle for the States. I don't know but it looks like yours and mine came out of the same factory.

My frame was shot just like yours, similar body cancer too. Repairs went beyond my skill level quickly and it ended up in salvage.

Hopefully, you can save yours, they are great vehicles off road.

The next task is to weld the floor and wheel arches. The method that I will carry out welding works is the MIG / MAG method.

Another bodywork repair is the reconstruction of the rear of the car. I had to put in a new stringer and a mount for the body pillow.

After finishing work on the rear side member, it was time for the rear corners of the body.
I must admit that it was a bodywork challenge for me.
It was necessary to bend every embossment to make the body line match.

very nice work.
reminds me of the time the windshield rusted out of my dad's van and he welded new metal in. he did it under a tree, but the weather was perfect.

STAGE II - sandblasting and painting the frame.

The frame has been sandblasted and protected with an epoxy primer. - two layers.
I put acrylic varnish on the base - also two layers.
