Today I switched out my original and yellowed chrome housing headlights with some very nice black housing headlights from an earlier year gen 3 from the junkyard.

I also got a new roof rack that I haven't had time to mount yet. It is super nice and wide enough to mount to the factory rails and it is long enough to cover the whole roof. It is 64x45x7.

Lastly, I got some new wheels and I hope to mount them soon!! Thanks @ChrisCosta416 for the wheels.

Sorry for not posting in a while. Some things that I have done in the past few months are- Get a roof rack with low profile cross bars, boos bash plates from Australia, mount my new rims on 265/75/r16 bfg KO2's, fix my air leak on my lower plenum, timing belt/water pump job, and fix my transfercase issues.

Plenum Air Leak Fix
On both of my gen 3 monteros they had a bad air leak at the front of the lower plenum which was causing a system too lean CEL. I found an easy fix for both of them. I went to harbor freight and got an o-ring kit and just replaced that and the problem is solved. All you have to do it remove the plenum and then split it and you will have access to the butterflies. You will want to take the front of the lower plenum apart and then slide out the plastic bushing and you will put a new o-ring on the inner groove. Also make sure to use silicone grease when installing the o-ring.

While I was there I removed the butterflies and honestly there is no difference at all in the way it drives. I even did this to both of my gen 3's and they drive exactly the same. Beware that the Mahle intake gasket kit on rock auto does not really fit. The gaskets for the two halves fit perfectly, but the gasket for the lower plenum onto the motor was off and the bolt holes were not even close.

Got some 4.9 differentials with LSD and some more goodies from the junkyard. It took me a few months to finally find a set because I wanted to get the LSD diffs. I passed up on a few normal 4.9's. I love living so close to the junkyard, i'm always the first one there. I also got the coolant hose routing to delete my rear heat and AC. This will allow me to get a rear bumper made.

You followed me, so now we're both lost
Truck looks great. Do you have a link for the roof bars that you installed?

I used the DNJ intake gasket kit when I replaced mine on the 3.8l. They were all steel and fit really well. I've been able to reuse them after doing the spark plugs this year.

Got my full lift installed a few weeks ago. Went with lovell hd springs and bilstein 4600's since i'm getting metal bumpers and more gear. It rides pretty nice, much better than my old custom spacers. Purchased from lusooverland.com. Also reused my airbags in the rear.

Previous owner of my Montero had the horn pad go bad which causes the horn to stay stuck on. Instead of just unplugging it they decided to cut the wires on the harness side. I finally was able to find a connector with wire at the junkard from another gen 3 Montero. Beware 01-02 had a different connector from 03+ Monteros. Luckily I had some spare steering wheels because 2 out of 3 of my spare wheels also had bad horn pads.
