https://www.youtube.com/user/landroverjeeplover/videos My name is Lindsey Cantrell (a guy) and this is the build thread on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee. It will have lots of pics and a gopro will be used on some, so expect awesomeness with some distortion. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me or message me accordingly. I was suggested to start a build thread since my Jeep gets alot of questions about it on instagram. Overlandxj is my username on there if you want to check the pics and follow my trips and such. First off, about myself. I was a Marine aircraft mechanic on Hueys and Cobras from 2006- 2011. I served three tours overseas during that time and had the time of my life. I have owned 5 jeep cherokees since I was 18. I bought my first for 1200 bucks not knowing **** about jeeps. It was 2wd with an open diff and went fast to me..... little did i know how non offroad capable it was. I was hit by an OJ simpsion bronco in the rear which destroyed it...... fail, and bought a land rover that had a car payment (worst idea ever)...... blew the engine within 3000 miles and back to the xj i came. i was able to buy a few here and there and turn them around until i got the jeep i have now for 500 dollars..... not knowing what was wrong with it, i fixed it for 55 bucks and had a running vehicle worth 5000 bucks (120000 on the clock). Then comes the time and money thrown at it over the next 3 years....... a rack with ladder that cost 4x what i paid for the jeep, ARB everything, and a cage. A cage is for safety, because i do like rock climbing, but like my friend says "with age comes a cage"..... im getting older and i care about life. it also makes the uniframe extremely rigid.
Build sheet: 2000 jeep XJ, 4.0, AW4, 4.56 gears, lockers, doorless, topless, 32x11.5x15 Goodyear mtr Kevlar, Safari snorkel, gobi rack and ladder, 5.5 inch RE/ OME lift kit, OME shocks, sway away, caged, 8 point homemade, ARB front bumper, warn zeon 8000, ARB twin compressor with tank, corbeau seats and belts, dirt bound off-road triple fan kit, 2 Optimas, homemade rear bumper, hummer 3 shackles, lim risers, light force 170s on bumper, ipf 100w on rack, etc....GOPR6212.jpghd jeep background.jpg

2 x 6 rockers are to be welded into the molested rocker panels. A plexiglass cover is still to be fashioned for the hole in the top. I still have to attach the cage to the frame. when the 2x6 rockers are installed, fender tube will be added to the bumpers for integration into the frame. more lift is needed in the back because it sits ***-down even with overload springs. i need to fashion a mid-arm or long-arm to achieve the proper control arm angles. I still need an inverter........ and i also need a new power steering pump........ pic palooza!IMG_6436.jpgIMG_5789.JPGIMG_6328.jpgIMG_5911.jpgIMG_5822.jpgIMG_5837.jpgIMG_5861.jpg

more pics

i took pics of how the gobi rack mounted, how i hacked up my police partition to fit around my cage, a pic of the ARB compressor mounted under the front seat, a cockpit view showing how the RAM mount (which is beefy as hell) mounts up, the Hummer 3 shackles on the custom bumper with tire carrier removed, the light guards on that bumper (best thing ever). If you have any questions or want to see pics of anything, don't hesitate to ask. Lindsey.
