Vehicle comments: bought used from a friend for this expedition
Shipping Company/Companies: Grimaldi http://www.grimaldi.co.uk/
Shipping comments: Rode ship with vehicle. No problems in the Africa ports on route. Shipped Hamburg to Buenos Aires.
Comments: Concerned about how they will fit back into regular life when they return. Transition from two apartments to one apartment to the van was a big jump. Have experienced the common-for-overlanders “What are you doing with your lives!?” from family/friends. Were stuck for four days in the great solar in Bolvia when they drove off the track and broke through the salt. Richard walked 8 hours to find help.
Biggest lesson(s) to date: Stay on the track in the solar. The rewards of travel outweigh the security of regular life back home.
