Do not have any external videos, since my girlfriend neighter wanted to drive or swim wade/swim across the rivers :D.
I will see what I have and post it in my build thread when I get time.

OK,, so it has been quiet here for a couple of years now.... But that doesn't mean that things have been at a stand still with this project:cool:

The Unimog is now finnished, and fully functional, only minor details and improvements remain:sneaky:

February 2020 we got it re-registered as a camper truck with all it's modifications (tires, raised roof, camper body, seating for 6 people, front mounted hydr. winch, cut out in rear wall of drivers cabin+++) This was a big milestone for us to achieve, as there are very few (if any) simmilar amateur-builds in Norway which have been certified like that.

March 2020 we started our Central-Asia trip which had been under planning for over 3 years, The trip was intended to last for 6 months, but after only 2 weeks we had to head back home after reaching the Tatry Mountains in southern Poland, (because of the closed borders and the ongoing crisis due to the Corona pandemic...). Needless to say our timing could have been better...

Now, being back home, we are getting back to our jobs and planning to continue on our journey to Central-Asia, in the spring of 2021 (if travel will be possible again by then...). In the meanwhile we take the camper for short trips around our backcountry and dream of a better future.

Here follows some pics from the build:

Looks good. Enjoy. Can you tell us how you made your table with the World map. I need a new table and would like to make one like yours. Thanks.

I wouldn't consider your build to be an amateur job it looks better than some so called professional companies efforts.

Thanks? I to like the mix of wood and steel/aluminum. A friend of mine made a lot of the plywood plares on a CNC mill, so I'm very happy with the finished result.

Our travel plan was roughly Eastern-Europe, Turkey, Caucasus, "The Stan countries", then back home via Russia, Ukraine and the Balticum. Hopefully we will be able to try this once more next year. But at the moment we need to stay at home as everybody else..

Great looking truck! Well done. It really looks good. :)
Thanks, even though we're not able to travel very far away at the moment it is still a strange but good feeling to finally have a fully functional camper, and not just a half-finished old truck that takes up space in the driveway ?

The tabletop with the world map was actually a gift from a Polish guy (Christopher from "Adventure Van") we met during the lockdown in Poland during our amputated Asia-Trip. Initially we had the table from an old caravan, it was OK, but nothing fancy. So after staying for more than a week at the Adventure Van workshop in Poland, we got this new custom tabletop as a goodbye present?

The table is made from 15mm which birch plywood, the "map" picture is then burned into the surface using a CNC-laser. I think he burned 1 or 2 mm into the wood. It is then sealed with many layers of transparent lacquer. The finished result is very nice and I have to admit that it looks good? I'll snap a pic of it and upload here one of the next days.

I'm sure Christopher would be happy to make a custom table for you as well if you're interested. If so, he can easily be accessed via his Facebook page;"Adventure Van Custom Conversion "
