Installing Addit Maps into BaseCamp (for Mac)
I downloaded the BaseCamp software today, and took it for a spin. The interface is almost exactly what Road Trip has, with the exception of the 'track' tool.
This could be a GREAT tool, allowing one to draw a tracklog-like line and then upload it to a gps to follow it. Much more useful than a string of waypoints turned into a 'route' with lots of straight lines connecting them!
BUT... I was utterly unable to get BaseCamp to install any of my maps. I have a number of mapsets which I have uploaded via MapManager to both RoadTrip and to my gps's. But so far I cannot upload to BaseCamp, for example, either City Navigator North America NT 2010, or Montana Topo maps. So I have not been able to display enough detail to really make the 'track' tool really useful.
anyone found the same problem? any solutions?
