I would add an awning for sure. If I was able to I would turn the inside into a bed that could fold into a bench. Therefore you can stand and change or sit and eat, then convert it down to a bed to stay warm on cold nights.
Also a lift is needed, maybe add a water tank and propane..
this trailer is going to be a dual use camping trailer my sons scout master say it this evening and was strongly suggesting as the equipment master it's me job to set up base came for the major hikes and camp outs as well as carry the heavy gear
I have a 30 gallon polly tank got off ebay for 70.00
also got a 9 foot awning for 140.0 for the instant hot water shower system i have to find a decent water pump for all this
the trailer is a 6'3 x 6'3 very well balanced i am thinking some stabilizer jacks in the back
i am taking it for licensing this week and plan on driving it across the scales so i know its dead weight so i have a clue i do have one issue the back door is not weather tight this week i will get pictures of the and see what will work i am thinking i will have to build a new door frames and install cam locks
well took deliver last night the guy took 100 off because we are using this for scouting
I have a date at the class store to get a piece Lexan and acrylic installed front window
It looks like the rust is is nothing too serious does not sheet-metal work and some grinding to cut out the old I was told just leave the plywood in place in the last another 10 years evidently this guy does not know my scouts that well
Where is the best place to get shocks these ones are blown
Any ideas how to wait for word on this trailer I am thinking the water tank just forward of the axle might help as it is now I can lift the whole trailer tongue with two fingers and have it sitting on his butt really easily so if you guys have any bright ideas or input on what I should do with the kids fire way
We start grinding and cutting this weekend I have three kids coming over who are high school to help me out
Take the shops to the local Napa or old school auto parts store.
The new ones with computer listings will have no clue " if it ain't in the computer I don't have it"
Match up the shock and mount it up.
Make sure to seal all the seams after metal replacement " nothing worse than wet camping equipment on a trip"
If it will be Scout use see if one of the local sign companies will do some graphics on it.
Looks like a good find.
Keep us posted on the progress.
that was kind of the plan for the shock i would love to pout on a Monroe load leveling the kids allready asked if they could put M.B.C.U on the tail Gate "Mobile Base Camp Unit" the things the kids come up with
The vise hanging off the back end is the reason for the light tongue weight it appears. Those suckers are heavy and that high up when the tongue is above level will flip it back easily. Lower the tongue two inches below the rear and see what happens. I would move the vise to the front if you are going to keep it. My guess is that thing weights close to 80 pounds with the steel deck it is setting on.
The trailer looks like a fantastic project, with tons of options to put in and on it. I have looked for an aluminum shop body like that. My guess is it will be pretty heavy to start with but the area of use is amazing. Have a great time with it and keep us in the loop.
