New Bronco

I had an Expedition for work like you described. The ecoboost is great but the rest of the truck is no Land Cruiser.
Very sim axle / ring gear sizes with the LC at 8.7" and 9.5" while the Expedition is 8.8" and 9.75". Dimensionally the Ford is 15" longer and 2" wider. Fuel tanks sizes are within a gallon in LC favor, but the 3.5 gets better fuel mileage so call it a wash. Payload is in Expeditions favor at 1750 vs LC closer to ~1500. Towing is in Expedition favor at 9200 vs LC at 8100. Those are all 'functional' things - just numbers, I get it.

I realize it's not the same and would agree the LC is probably more thoughtfully built in Japan, but it's not a lot different than comparing a Tundra to a F150 and the end of the day since the Tundra and LC200 have many of the same components as do the Exped and F150.

I think a good function platform, 2" lift with some 33/34's, locking rear diff and maybe a torsen front off a Raptor.

And then there’s the rumored WartHog edition...any pictures of that would be appreciated.

Ford Bronco Sport Already Being Tuned For More Power

This sounds pretty good until the cautionary info in the last paragraph ?, makes me wonder who’s gonna be able to enjoy using this mod?

(The story)
“The tuning specialists at Vivid Racing have introduced a software tweak for the Bronco Sport 2.0 EcoBoost, which gives the SUV a little more oomph over the stock figures. The Arizona-based aftermarket shop can boost the four-cylinder engine to 305 hp (227 kW) and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) with a simple engine remap.

As Muscle Cars and Trucks reports, Vivid Racing has been using a Bronco Sport Badlands as a test vehicle and a new dyno video shows huge improvements not only in power and torque, but also in the way the output is delivered through the rpm range. The big news here is that the power curve doesn’t dive deeply down at the top and the peak power figure comes earlier in the range than before.

While on paper the power increase may not look dramatic, the gains at the wheels seem significant. There, the Bronco Sport benefits from an additional 36 hp (27 kW) and 54 lb-ft (73 Nm) of torque for a total output of 222 hp (165 kW) and 300 lb-ft (407 Nm) of torque at the wheels. In a combination with the improved power curve, this means the crossover should feel much livelier in real-world driving.

If all of this sounds good to you, Vivid Racing asks $600 for the ECU flash but needs you to remove the ECU from the vehicle and ship it to the tuning shop. Bear in mind that this tuning is labeled for off-road use only, which means you are unlikely to pass any emissions tests around the United States.”

But maybe you don’t need that performance upgrade for your street legal Bronco, as it’ll still beat the Taco in the 1/4 mile

Not sure if it has been said yet, but I think the best thing that has happened to the Wrangler has been the introduction of the Bronco. This seems to be the only real competition as a 1:1 to the Wrangler. I think it will make the Wrangler better in the future. I think the Bronco is a good looking 4x4 and I wish them the best.

Would be nice if Ford undercuts Jeep in pricing and forces downward pressure on Jeep prices, which are inflated.

Seems like the Bronco is a better value than a Jeep when purchasing the mid package like a BD. I compared mine to a new one and liked the build of the Bronco for the price better.
