I think they got overwhelmed with all the new 6G folks the past 2 years. The folks that run it have been doing it for many years now and generally do a pretty good job.

Knowing nothing about that event in particular that sounds plausible. Permit getting denied was probably a shot over their bow since nobody was at the meeting.

When we request blocking off the square for our annual car show we make sure we are represented at the city council meeting and park board meetings in case they have any questions or issues that need addressed. Unless something came up I dont know why they wouldn't represent themselves.

And we are small time, 300 cars is a big show and 99 percent of the time they are just parked.
