New 1999 GMC Yukon

Hey fellas, well, I got a little tired of the mpg on my K2500 and decided to put it up for sale/trade and just see what would happen. A day later a guy drives over to my house with a '99 Tahoe, same mileage, 4x4, leather, working A/C and asks if I would like to trade and he'll even throw in some $$. How could I resist? I drove the vehicle, inspected it, the whole 9 yards. It needs my typical treatment of cleaning and all of that, but it is pretty clean. I am stoked needless to say!! He just wanted more room for his 2 Goldens, but didn't want to buy another vehicle. So, here I am and we both were happy. I'll post up a few photos tomorrow.

I know I traded reliability, etc but this thing is extremely comfortable and has some nice upgrades that were missing on the Burban. She went to good owner. Plus, the A/C works!! :wings:

I haven't but I don't plan on pulling mine any farther than 20 miles at a time. Our RV is for sale, so nothing there. I plan on getting a diesel truck in 6 months, so if it sits until then, no big deal.

I'll be putting up some photos tonight. I just haven't had time since getting back from camping/surf trip. I hope to do some of what you have done with wheels and tires, etc... I don't plan on anything major just yet though. I'd like to add some offroad lights, better suspension, and brake upgrades pretty soon. It needs a good cleaing, new center high mount brake light, new rotors, and better brake pads. Those would be the immediate needs at this point. Kinda boring, I know...

I don't know... mine's got 204k on it now and I haven't been the nicest to it, but I do keep up on the maintenance.

I know, right? Well, if it were not my only vehicle or I could have afforded a second vehicle right now, she would have stayed. It kinda sucked, but at least I was able to acquire another platform to start building up. Sucks being a full time student with a little one, but life is still really good.

I am glad to hear it. I know I got the best year for the 5.7 Vortec and this thing was always dealer maintained when any title rattle popped up. I am pretty OCD about maintaining vehicles and this one will be no different. I do use the absolute crap out of my vehicles though! I'll be looking through your thread and a few others to get some ideas. I already want to do the lights, but first it is getting a major cleaning this weekend. So far I have fixed all of the door handles and replaced a few missing bolts which helped tighten things up. The driver's door and rear door were both missing the main bolt that holds the handle in place. It drives and steers really tight. I am surprised at how good it feels actually. I didn't thnk these could be as nice and comfortable as this one.

Well, spent some time deconstructing, cleaning, and then reconstructing!! I was pretty happy with the results, but I will say that this is the first time I could not get some of the stains out. I have never had that problem. I am not sure if they are coke stains or some other substance, but as usual, I am not surprised at the absolute filth that people will ignore. Call me OCD....enjoy!!
