Man oh man

Watched that entire video this morning:coffee:. I couldn't figure out the easter egg though that you alluded to. Sorry you had to lose the roof carrier and the bucks dropped on the Toyota rails. Looking forward to more.:coffeedrink:

haha, I'll have to go back and take a look.

In either case keep the updates coming. It's nice to take a break from work and live vicariously through this shindig of yours! I think on one hand I was a little worried there but definitely like the small successes you come up with even in the midst of what appears to be setbacks.

Somehow I stumbled upon this thread yesterday and find it awesome you took off and have made this trek. I'd never even heard of the TAT until i found you. Was even more excited to see you started about 2 miles from where I work, and across the lake from my house. When you come back, I'm always going to be doing a double take at all the red 4runners in town.

Congrats on following your dream and keep driving. Sell a kidney before you call it quits before reaching your goal. You never know when you'll be able to get back out.

Kidney I need!! However I heard I can get rid of a testicle for 30k. I can stay on the Rd for a while with 30k!! I don't know that I will come back the same way but if I do I will post it here.

My phone auto corrected testicle to festival!!!

Sense you asked: "due east" or north, south or west means in that specific direction instead of just "east witch refers to head in the general direction but maybe more NE or SE.

And a side note. I personally hate traction control, ABS or any other "aid" when trying to drive in slick conditions. They say it helps but I find that I can usually keep the vehicle on a much straighter line without all that crap. May just be me but if you find yourself in those conditions again you might try turning that stuff off.

Also, what's your return dat look like? I'll be headed to MOAB from Va with my girlfriend (leaving may 28) for the TacomaWorld Rock Therapy event. If we're going to be passing each other it'd be cool to get a beer!

Thanks for explanation and it seems legit!! The newer vehicles it is getting increasingly harder to just turn them off unfortunately, but I think you are right with mud. As far as head back date I will be back before then, my god I'll be dead broke if not!!!!

DAY 15

This morning after looking at the Trail and map and all I decided thatbi was going to go towards twin falls on the highway for a few reasons 1 the Trail picked up close to there. 2 there was a Toyota dealer there and I needed service. 3 the Trail for whatever reason went East towards salt lake then back West and I wasn't interested really in ba k tracking. So after a decent breakfast with the same rubbery excuse for sausage patty that I have found at nearly every stop West of the Mississippi, off I went.

This is the patty. Stay away from this madness if you own a restaurant it taste awful.

Now a few of you may have the same misconception that I did which is this time of year should be spring and should be present in Nevada. That was not the case today

Got to Idaho and visited Wills Toyota which the service writer advised me that they worked only on appointment and would not have time to mess with my truck!! The closest dealer next is in Boise 2hrs away. The Trail connects there or 80-90 miles up 93. After a debate with myself I decided to travel the 90 up. The reason I want to get to a Toyota dealer is I still have e free maintenance and also I don't want any excuses for not covering something if it breaks on the trip. I still have a hole on my left rear that I keep a close eye one that I will also get fixed at the dealer. After going up I found this cool little place, mammoth cave Idaho

After that there is a little circle walk around deal with a whole bunch of random artifacts, fossils, dead animals and so on. Pretty creepy but cool nonetheless.

I passed through Hailey Idaho and then sun valley. I stopped in a place called Wild Spud and had a beer and chicken sandwich that was not bad. Then I connected back on the Trail. I connected in sawtooth national forest. I drove up the Trail for a ways looking for a campsite that had cell service, you know me!!! After driving for a while I came to a point that was covered with snow that was clearly up to my front bumper and I'm not doing that again!!! So I decided to turn back around and worried about it tomorrow!! I will camp tonight with no service!! Side not I'm sick and tired of snow dammit. I stopped at this little area that unfortunately forbits overnight camping because not o ly is it beautiful but full service too!!!
