Very nice!!!

A backburner project of mine is a custom overhead console... your's has really given me some ideas and inspiration.

How'd you anchor it to the ceiling of the cab? What did you secure it/fasten it to?

I'd guess that the T100 is the same at the Hilux here. If so, the rear view mirror is held on by 3 substantial bolts to captured nuts in the ceiling. Also the overhead dome light (above the front seats) is held in place with two decent sized screws. The 3 rear view bolts are more than sufficient to hold up a radio or two and if you span from those to the dome light you'd be able to hold a very significant amount of weight. I can't emphasize enough that the rear view bolts are seriously good for the task and I'm not exactly sure why they'd need to be quite like that. In regular cabs the dome light is there, but in XtraCab trucks it's only holding up a rear view mirror, something that some trucks trust to only some glue on the windshield. But they are actual captured nuts, not a stamped speed nut for a course thread screw, and real Phillips head bolts. I'd guess M6-1.00, it's not insignificant.

Dave, nailed it on the head. I also anchored the rear of the console by drilling throught the cab of the truck with the sunroof off and bolted the console to the truck. With the sunroof on it is weather proof.

oh and thanks for the complements

Great looking truck

You've done a great job on that truck. I especially like the side window defroster in the last photo, (just kidding, its the siding on the house - LOL)

I was like, what the hell are you talking about???? Then I looked at the picture and I was.. "Wow, he is right. I have a side window defroster..." I never noticed that. Now I will just have to find the wiring so I can make sure it works. :sombrero:
