Your truck looks great with the roof top tent Mr Varg. Good to see your truck coming along. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Chilli...?

I like the looks of the GMT400 but something about the suspension looks funny when stuffed....and that's on all of them.

The rear has pretty good flex for a stock truck because of the 63in spring pack. The front is just as hopeless as any stock IFS. Not sure why it would look funny compared to a GMT800.

It was an awesome trip with a great group of people. Truck ran great but we had some problems.

I cooked my brakes coming down Mt. Washington because of the tall 1st gear and all the Toyota/Jeep guys were going too slow with hill descent mode. Once they cooled down and I had clear road in front of me we made it down safely.

I lost 4wd the 2nd morning. Either my transfer case linkage isn't right or something in the case let go, not sure. But we made it through the mild trails in 2hi.

Sorry to hear about your break down Mr Varg but at least you made it through. Thanks for posting pics. Looks like a fun trip. Cheers, Chilli...?

Are you still running the thermal linear actuator in the front diff? They are a pain in the ass. I deleted mine using a Standard Motor Products TCA19 - they aren’t new cheap but it works. Mine was $75 on eBay.

Ditching the sway bar really improves travel.

I put the 97+ motorized actuator in last year. The thermal actuators are junk. Mine was taking 5min to engage in the winter time before I swapped it out. I could hear the actuator engage so I think the problem is in the case or shift linkage. I haven't had time to check it out.

Hopefully this winter I'll be ditching the entire front IFS and slinging a Dana 60 under the front and a AAM 10.5 in the back. I've got everything to put the rear axle in, I just need everything for the front.

So the main problem with the 4wd ended up being the actuator. I must have smacked it on something and broke it internally. It led me to the problem when it started leaking lol. The motor spins but no actuation. Other problem is my linkage wasn't getting the case into 4hi enough so it wasn't engaging reliably. Easy fixes compared to tearing the transfer case apart.

Is that the rear end of your truck I see second from the right? Straight from the Northeast Adventure Company's homepage.
