My 04 Trailblazer

My S10 Blazer had some issues. So went and purchased an 04 Trailblazer. Already has a 3 in leveling kit and 265/70/17s on it. Has the 5.3 v8 , the G80 limited slip and the engine skidplate and seating for 7. Also has a sunroof. I'm excited to see where this build takes me. I added my roof rack from the S10.

Is that a factory V8? I know some of the other TB platform trucks had the V8 but I didn't realize Chevy badged trucks were available with a V8 as far back as 2004.

Does it have a 2 speed transfer case or is it AWD like some of the other V8 trailblazer platform trucks?

My guess would be two-speed. Only the Trailblazer SS, Envoy Denali, and 9-7x were AWD, but I could be mistaken.
Don't forget the last of the Bravada's too. Actually, the Denali Envoy had a selectable with low range as far as I know...

The TBSS is the only "AWD" system in these trucks that doesn't suck.
The rest use a clutch engaged setup just like the selectable system that needs the rears to slip before the front tires engage. Makes the tail step out if you tip in while you're going around a slick turn...

The V8 was available and a bit more common in the 370 trailblazers. (Extended length) Finding a short one with a V8 is harder, unless you look to Rainier's and Envoy Denali's...

Yes it's the factory v8. Came in the EXT package. The transfer case has 2wd, AWD, 4 Hi and 4 low settings.

Got some new tires today. Went w the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in a 265/70/17. I think they look good on it and ride well so far. Also arranged my gear in the back. The mid shelf came with the truck. Gives me more options for gear storage.

My stock power steering cooler was leaking. So went w a Hayden brand replacement. Took about 20 mins to install it. Also swapped out my reverse light bulbs w the Silver Stars. What a difference.

I picked up a matching 5th rim for my spare. Picking the tire up Friday. Also picked up 2-5 gallon water cans that fit perfectly between the 2nd and 3rd row seats in the floorboard.

Nice setup, have you done any trails or trips? I have a GMT800 truck but looking for a smaller GMT360 setup to build next. Yours looks pretty god with 5.3, G80 and selectable 4x4

I still find it interesting that you have a long door (370) Trailblazer. And you take it offroad. :)

FWIW, I just made a ~3/4" lift strut spacer for my wife's Envoy. Much better now that the nose is where it should have been right out the door. It sits fairly level as judged by the frame, but the body still tilts down toward the front a little. Good enough for me.

Now to figure out some sort of front tow points. Don't really want a hitch hanging down, and factory hoods won't work on the Envoy. :(
Of course, we're not "wheeling" it, I just want to be able to recover it easily if it slides off the road... :)
