ugh....in the interest of nerd-stats....you could get a 5r110 behind a 5.4 in cab chassis vans. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

All good. Pooling all of our knowledge to get the correct info out there is what it's all about.
Corneilius might have more good insight here too, but even if it did bolt up I think that the PCM from a '99 might be a deal killer.

I had the same discussion on my build thread as I found a cheap 5r110 with transfer. The computer that controls the engine controls the transmission too. I think the wiring hardness is specific too.
The computer issue is what stopped me from exploring the possibility of using a manual transmission too.

Helped Mom pull all but the drivers seat today. She is a go getter!
We half assed planned a seat belt webbing bed platform.
Time will tell how that works out.
