Monstaliner instead of carpet

I'm considering pulling my carpet and monstalining the floor in my Tahoe. How will this effect road noise?

I monstalined my jeep interior but the jeep was so loud it's hard to tell how much was from the monstaliner.

Think about Monstaliner and use a rubber mat. Something like DynaMat DynaDeck. It is a a vinyl closed cell foam. Quiets the road noise and can be easy to clean or lost.

Bad Influence
Yeah after replacing the floor pans I replaced my stock set up with Dynamat and unbacked carpet in my Jeep Cherokee and am considering going back an adding a carpet pad to keep the noise down as it's still a bit to noisy.
With just Monstaliner even wheel noise is extremely loud.

Went back and edited my post DynaMat makes a product called DynaDeck which will quiet the noise and is easier to clean than carpet with embossed pattern. It comes in a 54" wide roll that you can cut to fit. It can be removed easily if you want to. Vacuuming is much easier than carpet.

That dynadeck looks impressive. How well will It form to the contours of the floor?

It forms really well when installed in warm weather. Roll it out and let it get warm, then install. being vinyl it can be a little stiff when cold.

And because I am a big believer in Monstaliner and their Chassis Saver product.

http://www.monstaliner.com/monstaliner_how_to_stop_rust.htm I like the silver chassis saver as it contains aluminum. Then top coat with Monstaliner.
If you use any kind of degreasers like awesome cleaner, simple green, or purple magic types then you have to do extensive rinsing and wiping as it effect adhesion. Brake cleaner works best and leaves not residue. I do not do a lot of surface prep as rust helps adhesion. Just get the dirt and loose rust knocked off.

I think I'll order a roll of the dynamat and see how I like it.

I can attest to the quality of monstaliner, short of a spray on line-x I think monstaliner is the best available.
