Picked up my second 95 Montero SR last week.
It came all the way from Missouri, it has some rust on the frame, but is not too bad

Looks like the previous owner knew about the butterfly shaft issue on the plenum intake, so he removed the shaft and sealed the plenum.

The vaccum canister is also missing. In its place the put a piece of hose and a screw.
Even though the butterfly shaft and canister have been removed the truck runs really smooth.

The interior is in bad shape.
The center console is completely destroyed,
ALL of the seats are ripped and in terrible condition.
The driver door panel is broken and needs to be replaced.

the Handbrake wasnt working, and I figured out why!
The handbrake cable snapped, I'm guessing it was due to corrosion.

i forgot to mention that when i opened up the hood to check out the engine I noticed that the airfilterbox was missing, and instead I saw that the previous owner had put a cold air intake in its place.

This is my other 95 Montero SR. Unfortunately it no longer runs. it has come to the end of its journey.
Fortunately, I'm going to pull out most of the interior out of this Greenish SR to replace all of the interior on my Blueish SR.
Im also going to pull out a lot of other components that I might need in the future. But for now, seats, door panels, center console, plenum intake manifold, carpet, rims and 33" tires, side rails, and skid plates will seek their way into the new Montero.

These are some of the parts I've pulled off of the Green SR, and will be installed in the Blue SR.

Looks like it needs a lot of love, but for the money you can't go wrong! What are your plans for it?
Yeah, it needs a lot of love!
My plans are to take the parts out of my other 95 SR that no longer runs, and put them in this new SR.

I pulled out the carpet so I that i could do some deep cleaning in the interior.
After a few hours, some elbow grease, and some cleaning suplies, the interior of the Montero was cleaned, the carpet was scrubbed, and the back row ripped leather seats were replaced with a set of nicer cloth seats, it looks WAYYY better now, smells good too!

I still have that pair of tan leather bouncy seats if you end up wanting the fronts to match the rest of the interior.

Installed the 33" BFGs on the Blue Montero. It makes such a big difference!
Im going to raise the torsion bar a bit, just to have a little bit more clearance on the front, it will also make the Monty look better!!

Finally got around to installing the grille guard and JAOS skid plate on the Monty,
Hopefully I can get some free time this weekend so I can install the JAOS gas tank guard.

Took a small fam. trip to Seven Magic Mountains, about 40 mins outside of Las Vegas.
Pretty cool place to contemplate.

So our Montero took us to Mount Charleston, just outside of Las Vegas.
Pretty awesome time! Snowball fights, Snow Angels, lots of laughter, our kids taking advantage of the oversized sunroof by sticking their heads out to enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains while we cruised the trails. Best part of our trip was taking the less traveled trails in our very capable Monty while everyone else stayed behind because their less capable vehicles could not take on the heavy snowed roads! It was a pretty awesome feeling! 20161226_123152-1.jpg20161226_162105.jpg20161226_155617.jpg20161226_125937.jpg20161226_121426.jpg20161226_120428.jpg
