Moving stuff from an old laptop and ran across some great old (16 years) photos of the early years with our 60 aka:RhinoRide. I built it for my son and I to use for hunting, camping and exploring back when he was 10 yo, he’s now 26 and living his own life. Lots of spring breaks, long weekends, summer vacations and southern Missouri deer hunts happened in it! Man, time just keeps going by......08F141EA-CB30-444A-8AC7-449CBFE93B13.jpeg582FB2D9-6044-4CB6-BD12-4C2F2D28D2C0.jpegD8697AA3-0CE0-4688-86F1-82B2C9BC8BFD.jpeg3147E98D-A9F3-4C55-9944-01AC05C574CA.jpegAF457E0D-F9E4-4534-8ACC-E8D26B6F0DA0.jpegFAEE9A34-F123-4183-8D2C-1FE65D5D3E45.jpegC918BF5C-BCCA-4328-9C4F-B5D566DEBDFC.jpeg13AAEED2-4001-426E-B20C-1DC66CFE2FB3.jpeg

Thanks. Those are custom widened fj40 steel wheels. They went from 15x5.5 to 15x8 and kept the fj40 centers, clips and hubcaps. Can kinda see the width differences in theses before and after shots. Cheers.
Totally. Very subtle. The wheels def look different but, you can't tell why. Until you see them next to stock steel wheels.

Nice looking 60. Do you still own and drive it?

I do and I do but, the engine is a little tired and I have a replacement 2f for it. I hope to swap it out once I have my shop done and get back onto the trails. Maybe even do one of your retired runs! 8AEFF58C-372E-4DD9-A1EF-76CC9BEC3465.jpeg

Man, I love a 60. When I started at the Toyota dealer way back in 1985 as a lube guy we got one in and they let me do the Pre Delivery Inspection on it. Wanted one ever since. It was the coolest thing ever. Someday....

LoL.... shortly after finding this one I took it over to Toyota dealership by my house to have it tuned up (I hadn’t learned much about them yet and I had a number of friends at the dealership due to all my other Toy’s owned) anyway, as I pulled it into the shop all the young technicians (not mechanics!, they hate being called mechanics) came over and were thrilled with it....but, none of them knew anything about It since it had a carb, emissions and no computer port. So, they literally called over to the “old guy” in the end stall to come over. I don’t remember his name but, he was probably 50 years old and was the only technician that knew how to work on the old systems! Watching them work on it was like the old master teaching the young pups....should’ve taken a picture....oh, no camera phones invented yet...

Cool pictures and postings! I'm almost at year 3 of 60 ownership, and it never fails to frustrate and me and make me smile at the same time. I fix one thing and another breaks...I hope I make it to 16!
