I bought a set for my version 1 boards as one of your dealers said I could use a dremial tool and notch out a gap to match the version 2 models. I have not looked at it yet but will give it a go in the next month or two.

Do you guys have any pictures of the mount side? I’m in the process of figuring out how I’m going to mount my Maxtrax to my truck and these might work but not knowing how they mount is making me hesitant.

Cheers, James

MAXTRAX - Mounting Pin Set Instructions

Please follow the instructions on this page carefully when fitting and using the official MAXTRAX Mounting Pins.

Note 1. Manufacturing tolerances (of +/-1%) may affect these dimensions slightly so please check these dimensions against your MAXTRAX before drilling. As a safety measure, the pins SHOULD be mounted vertically so that the MAXTRAX are carried horizontally.

Note 2. You will need to trim 15mm off the thread for use in channel-type roof bars.

Note 3. Ensure pins are aligned so that the padlock hole in the top 'knuckle' is visible once the MAXTRAX are locked down.

Note 4. For additional security, fit a small padlock through the most easily-accessible mounting pin. A wire combination padlock is the best option (they are readily available and you can't lose the key!).

The type of locks using wire that lock your gun are a bit thicker wire and might be lying around not being used.

The way my rack is built, I only have mounting holes for 2 of the pins length wise. Are they strong enough that I can get away with only using 2 pins?

Is the lock hold big enough to fit a Bolt padlock? These are locks that use your factory key so you don’t have to worry about having extra keys or remembering codes. The lock shackle is 5/16” diameter.
