Long term pickup trailer build.

I initially put this trailer together in 2009. It is the back half of a 2wd 1979 toyota pickup that parted out. It did a SOA on it and ran 31 in ch tires on it.
I used it as just a general use trailer for a few years, camping, moving, yardwork, etc.
Put a shell on it and my wife used it for hay cubes for her horses.
My plan when I built it was to use it for camping behind my 1980 toyota pickup but life happened and I never got around to fully setting it up.
This spring I decided it was time to set it up. Still need to finish up the "kitchen" space but it works. I dont have alot of photos from when I built it,But it didn't change much.
I put I plywood floor in with carpet for a smooth sleeping surface.
Wired led lights in the shell area and the tool box lid.
Built a rack over the shell to haul a couple kayaks or a canoe.
Fabbed 2 inch receivers into the rear bumper for removable stabilizer jacks.
Sorry the photos are out of order.

Along with the roof rack I setup a basic tarp awning. I used loops of para cord to attach to the rack. For poles I used electrical conduit, the heads on 3/8 bolts lightly press into 1/2 conduit.

I have thought about that jack idea before but have been concerned about sway or movement due to play in the receiver and swivel assembly. I have been mocking up ideas with welding the receiver tubing directly to the jack and angling the jack both out and backwards. Jack would just be removed and stowed when traveling. My setup with be on a popup camper trailer. I am wondering how much movement you get in your setup? Are you still using the toyota axle?

Yes I am still using the original 5 lug truck axle. I have pulled it thousands of miles with no issues, I put about 600 on it 2 weeks ago. I am looking for a deal on a 6 lug trailer axle with brakes but that is mainly because want the lug pattern to match my at least a couple of my tow vehicles, I dont drive anything with 5 lug just 6 and 8.
The Jack's seem stable so far, but I haven't camped with them yet. Hopefully I'll get out this weekend at least for 1 night.

I had a chance to take it out last weekend and test the jacks. They have a small amount of wobble but are far more solid than jack stands.

I am planning on getting a weed sprayer tank to use as a water system. And will be adding a small 12 volt fan for ventilation in the trailer.

I like the weed sprayer tank idea for water, I use a pump style with a garden sprayer for clean up. Keep in mind these systems are not intended for potable water.
