Im looking for a set of locking lid latches. I found some destaco ones but they dont have provisions for a pad lock.

is it sturdy enough for a lid with a tent?

haven't tested with the tent yet. but looks sturdy enough. the tabs are .12 inches and the rods are .22 inches thick.

I used 2x 175# struts, but my lid is aluminum. Tent and lid are under 200lbs of static weight.

yeah im struggling with determining how to mount the struts and what size. i dont want it to fly up when i unlatch it but after helping it up a little may it will lift itself. the lady is a bit on the short side so lifting to its full open would be impossible. ill have to have a pull strap mounted so she can close it.

This is for a teardrop rear hatch but the location,strenth and position may be of some help

Back to the OP's original question... I used latches commonly used on pop-up campers, they're sold in most RV stores, although I got mine on eBay.
