Since January of 2018, my wife daily's a 2011 GX460. It's fantastic we love it. Barn door wasn't a big issue for us since I come from Jeep Wranglers. Ours has been all over this past year with trips from TN to PA, DC, KY, NC, and FL.

Ours was listed as a base, but after reading this thread it has dual power switches in the rear, a leather and wood grain steering wheel, which makes me not so sure. Ours does not have KDSS though.

Looks like it was optional on 470s, but everything I can find says it became standard in 2009 with the 460 model. Why don't you think your 2011 has it?

So I finally flew into Houston to pick up my GX. Thankfully it was everything it was represented to be. 116000 miles with full service records. This lot is getting a lot of trade ins from the local Lexus dealer. Drove to Lafayette LA last night and got back home about 2 today. Drove awesome and I got just over 18 mpg coming back. Now I have a room full of wheels, coilovers, springs and shocks to install when I get the time!!

Congrats on the truck! I looked all over Texas for three months, and must have drove and looked at 15 different GX470s. I finally drove to LA to buy one from a member on Mud. Paid a pretty penny, but the truck only had 86k, all service up to date, and OEM lift, JBA UCAs, wheels, etc.

Out of curiosity, did your truck come with a Texas title or an out of state title? If it was a Texas title, how recent was the title issued? I was a LEO here in Texas, and the issue I ran into with 75% of the the GXs I went to look at were out of state titles or brand new Texas titles (usually at smaller car lots). After the floods, a lot of trucks got salvaged out by insurance companies due to flood damage. Wholesale auction houses buy them up, ship them to Ohio, Tennessee, or other states with loose title regulations. They get an out of state title, sell it back to a small dealer at auction in Texas, who then sells it on that out of state title, or applies for a brand new Texas title, and then sells it to a customer as a clean title truck. It takes AWHILE for this to catch back up in the DMV systems between states, and then two years from now the owner goes to re-register their truck and gets told it is a salvage title and they need to retitle it as such.

One of the biggest scams the Auto units work here in Texas currently. The crappy part is that it takes so long to catch up, so VIN check and Carfax won't show it.

Not saying this is the deal with yours, just an FYI for future buyers in Texas, as there are quite a few cheap GX 470s floating around for sale in state.

PM me if anyone has any questions.

It had a TX title that followed the carfax report. It was a trade in at Westside Lexus and they sold it to the used car lot that I got it from. The car fax showed it as a company lease car for 1 year then one owner after. All the service work its whole life was done at Westside. Flood vehicles from TX are well know around here. I have a friend that gambled on several and made good money on all but one. But even after he got them retitled in MS the flood damage stayed on the carfax report.

I posted about this truck separately, but thought I should add it here. Not mine, but a gorgeous mildly built 2017 at a local Houston dealership. If I end up modding my truck, this is what I want it to look like. What do you think? Also, I'm guessing this is a simple spacer lift, but how high? Maybe 2"?

Right? I've never seen a kit like that specific to the GX, but I'm going to look into it. I guess they could have used a 4runner or land cruiser kit, everyone says those bolt right up

You guys got a link to a good "buyers" guide? Ideally, something like the Slee 100 series LC buyers guide. I'm thinking about buying a more modern vehicle to replace an 89 FJ62 and the GX is moving up on the list (already have a 100 series and can't afford a 200 series).
