Lewis and Clark, et. al - 2 months and 8,000 miles in a FJ40.

I thought about this thread a lot the last 2 weeks.

My wife and I (and dog) are finishing 5k miles across the southwest in a frontier, with trailer. while we have plenty of room, I am not sure we could have fit everything we deemed "needed" into a 40.
Infact, after 2 weeks of 16* nights in an RTT I am going to start saving for a 4wd Van.

I've gotten pretty adept at truck camping now - easy to throw a bedroll down somewhere within walking distance, and easy to deal with the next day. Packing and unpacking were some of my least favorite things, so I try to do it as little as possible.

What was your favorite part of your trip?

Very cool write up and nice looking rig. I finally got back out to Colorado and cannot wait to check out the Big Sur and redwoods among many other areas.

Unfortunately some of the best adventure stories aren’t finished by the OP that takes them. For them it is a trip already taken, they are ready to move on, for us it is often a trip we dream of taking and we want to hear more.
Thanks for the ride.
