I completed this upgrade a few weeks ago. OEM sport projector headlights. I honestly didn’t have too many complaints with the original headlights but I prefer the more controlled beam of the projectors. I decided against adding HID’s or LED’a for reliability. 2BA3ACA1-E253-40C5-B4FF-84D96EB9AA5E.jpeg

Hey guys, some of you might have remembered my 1999 suburban build. Since then I’ve had a few vehicles, and I’m at now a 2014 Sierra. Looking to make this my overlanding vehicle. Nothing crazy, camping trail riding, etc. so far I’ve leveled it with a rc 2.5 and added some 34.5 inch general grabbers. Trifold tonneau cover, also Little stuff like LED pod fog lights, and LEDs in the headlights. I love now the truck is in snow and sand, and it has plenty of power. Hopefully I’ll be getting a full cap soon and outfitting that, because I’ve been sleeping in the bed. Next is replacing the a arms that max out, and some good shocks, and a re-gear. 2000 K1500 Suburban on 37" tires

2000 K1500 Suburban with 37" tires with just a 3" body lift and lots of trimming.

Finally got the front hitch mounted and running front and rear Ultimate MX haulers to get the dirt bikes to the trails and while on the trail when the riders get tired.

Cheers..
Interested in doing the same on a Tahoe already use an ultimate mx hauler in the rear and have a spare one thinking about using upfront. Any issues you’ve ran into cooling wise? Also wanting to put full size mx bikes besides pit bikes? And driveability/handling? Did you have to use extension? I have stock suspension with air bags in rear. Thanks you

Tahoemx,

No extensions on the front rack, I did have to cut a hole in the bumper to accommodate the hydraulic jack of the MX hauler. No issues with cooling mostly because I converted to dual electric fans, even in 110F days my temperature stays at 180. I usually have a TTR125 up front, I have had a CRF450 up front with an enduro in the back.

The truck is heavier so have to drive slower and the truck will drive different. No airbags in the rear. I have heavy duty springs that came with towing and Z71 packages and 3" coil spacers.

Good luck, show some pics when you have it up front.

My wife and I almost bought a Tahoe just like that in '99. The seats and driving position were ideal. Regret not buying one.

The seats are so comfortable. And it drives like a big old cadillac. So that tells me I need new shocks but I like the feel on the highway.
