Leaf spring detail isuzu NPS

Hi everyone

Pleaee someone can help me explaining in detail the modification needed for the isuzu nps ??

Im from chile and here there is no way to get the ATW pack....

Parabolic is the best option??? Or there is another one thats work ???

I do not have an Isuzu, but from what I know, the front leafs are longer than those on a Fuso.
Because of this, the ride is generally better with the Isuzu than the Fuso, when using OEM springs.

The only advice I would give regarding springs is that you should build the camper first.
When you are a full weight, or close to it, then you can develop the best suspension solution for your truck.

I took it fully loaded to a spring manufacturing shop that specialised in manufacturing spring sets for light trucks. They managed to make the vehicle a lot better and more livable.

I don't know if you can follow English, but this video is from 2016 and shows a 2014 Isuzu NPS having a spring replacement/upgrade as well as new shock absorbers. It is quite detailed and you will see before and after differences. I am sure that somewhere in Chile you should be able to get something close to this for your NPS.

Is your NPS right hand drive, or left hand drive?

Thanks a lot... i had seen that video before however they use "another method"... not parabolic springs... and dont really understand the differece.

Anyway i think that im gona move in the direction of this video.

Question? Do you have ATW suspension mod.... its feels different to the suspension archived in this video??

The difference between a parabolic spring set, and a normal spring set, is that the parabolic springs are spaced apart and can work individually. A normal spring set requires all springs to move, (more or less) in unison, whereas with a parabolic spring set, the springs are able to work individually, so to speak.

As a result of this the parabolic spring set is usually lighter as it has less leaf spring.

Attached are two pictures of our truck. one picture shows the rear ATW parabolic spring sets, the original rear dual wheels are still attached. The other picture is from the right rear looking forward and towards the left rear spring set. You can see the air gap between the leaf springs. The third picture is one of our 17" wheels.

Parabolic spring sets are lighter as there are fewer springs, we have three leaf springs on the front, two sets of three leaf springs on the rear.

You don't mention if you are going to super single wheels? There is a difference between super single wheel rim sizes, the difference between the 19½" and 17" rims and your choice of tyre does make more of a difference than I would have thought. We have the 17" wheel option.

I have hopped directly from our truck into another Isuzu NPS 300 fitted with 19.5" super singles running quite reduced air pressure on a corrugated dirt road. The 19.5" wheel/tyre combination, which were Toyo tyres on the other NPS was very noticeable in lower ride quality compared to our NPS. His NPS also had the ATW full suspension change, so it was a reasonably close apples to apples comparison.

I couldn't wait to get back into our truck, while the owner of the other truck had one question; how much are those 17" super singles?

Im going super singles with 17" tyres. I dont know the tyre yet... maybe ko2 (130q) .. and koni shock absorbers...

So i will follow the advice.... wait a little until the camper is full set and then weigh it all and then modify the leaf springs...

Thank you for that. This is the first time I have heard of a left hand drive Isuzu NPS. I was under the impression that maybe Izuzu had never made any NPS trucks with left hand drive as I have never heard of any in left hand drive countries.

Very interesting. It relates to my question in the other thread about why Isuzu never imported the NPS to North America. Apparently not because they didn't have a left hand drive version.
