Thought it might be time to post up about my latest acquisition. She/He is a 1974 RHD Series III 109" Station Wagon. Straight from the UK, even still has the plates, awaiting the CA plates.

I'm taking my time naming her/him as I'm not sure I will stay with the red color.

It is a beauty! I used to have one 1978 model V8 stage 1 and I regret selling it.
Do some work in the interior and will be a perfect expedition vehicle.
Is a V8?
Cheers

It has the military 2.25 petrol in it. Other than having to replace the fuel pump, it starts and purrs like a kitten. Perhaps I should name her "Kitten"... but I'm not sure how my wife would feel about that.:ylsmoke:

Steve, is she an ex-MOD vehicle?

The civilian license plate shows she was first registered in Cardiff in 1978.

is that a double roof or a vent?

Both. Double roof with vents that open into the cab. One of those fantastic innovations that LR decided to loose when they built the Defender. If you see references to a 'tropical roof' that's what they mean.

cheers

Based upon the license plate it is not a 1974. 1974 vehicles had a L or M suffix. What does it say on the V5 log book?

Is the vehicle in California now?

I have a 1971 Series IIa 109 that I imported from the UK.
