Not really sure what section exactly this post belongs in. But I do know that a lot of people frequent this part of the forum, so hopefully the exposure here helps spread the word.

There was an editorial written in Crawl magazine earlier this year (link below). The article is short and well worth a read. Basically the author notes how, despite there being tens of millions of 4wd and OHV users in America, the advocacy groups representing their interests (specifically regarding land use/access) are undermanned and underfunded (compared to certain environmentalist groups that are quite dedicated to shutting down 4wd trails/roads).

Basically, the moral of the story is, if you value the 4wd trails/roads where you live, join a local advocacy group to give it more resources and support to work with.

Edit: IMO, it would be really cool of the Expedition Portal staff did a piece on this very topic.
