jeep jk unlimited camper project

VanIsle_Greg

I think I need a bigger truck!
Wow, I am very impressed with the way that this is turning out. Fantastic build sir... and it looks amazing on the Jeep too. I love the fact that this is so form fitted to the fender flares on the rear...that looks killer.

Nice work!

Oh and I may have missed this, but are you putting any more windows in the sides at the rear?

Really looking nice. So want a Jeep camper top for mine.
I may try to build one for my Avalanche to start with. Have some ideas for that.
I just picked up a set of 1/2 doors for the Jeep for the front and back so I was thinking to build one for the Jeep for use with 1/2 door in the back ?

Yours is looking awesome. Some great ideas here.

Question you chose wood and maybe you posted it some place.
How heavy is the camper shell?
How hard to get on and off?
Are you going to use some of those jack I see on the truck campers?
Also what do you think about using steel studs ? They are light weight and can be bought at home depot etc.
I was thinking of making the skeleton out of that.

What do you think it weighs in at? I have a trailer I am planning to rebuild in the spring and those composite panels look like the best thing to help keep the weight down! Their video of deflection has me thinking of using them for the floor, wouldn't have to worry about rotting.

I haven't had a chance to weigh it, but i guess around 350 lbs.

Any one going to overland expo east? I will be there Friday.

Oh sweet I will have to definitely find you and check out your Jeep. I will have my J30 in the Goose Gear booth but I want to see this thing in person. Your pics from the first trip look awesome!
