Is braided Polyester rope good for guy lines with large tarps and awnings?

Just wanting to know if the braided outside will hold up to the abuse of the runner itself when under tension? My polyethelene ropes which I want to replace look like they cope a beating in the runner once the guy is taught, but hold up no worries at all.

They say polyester is the best rope for UV and is widely used in the marine world and, I do alot of outdoor camping so wanting the longest lasting rope. My polyethelene ropes say uv resistent. But is that really going to last the same years as the Polyester I wonder?

Something to keep in mind, not much, if any Poly is UV stable. So be prepared to replace your guy lines periodically.

Having said that, paracord, which is basically what is used by most MFGs for tent and / or canopy guy lines.

I use paracord for guy lines on a 12x24 tarp rig, and to guy out my EZ Up. No issues even with relatively high winds.
