Introducing Goliath, Purpose built OBS F-350

Thank you guys,
Here is some pics of the AFC mods that I did, nothing exciting, cut the AFC foot off for better rack travel, tightened the governor spring down 4 clicks, I already had the boost elbow and fuel plate slid forward so nothing new there and then I adjusted the star wheel to motivate her a little more off the line. I have begun tearing the interior apart, mounting switches and sound deadening. They are closing the road to Mt Spokane on June 1st for road repairs for the summer so I need to get up there and do some mountain biking before its too late.

Hi Guys, Haven't updated in a little bit. Nothing too exciting to show, most of the fab work is done except for the rear water can swing-out that I still have to build. Special thanks to Diesel Power Products and Offroad Power Products for helping me procure a bunch of ARB goodies for a great deal. Gutted all of the interior except the dash and headliner, added 70 square feet of hushmat, replaced every bulb on the inside with LED. Installed the rear view mirror/monitor, the crew helped me clean up the bumper while I wired in rock lights under the truck and wired a LED strip over the rear of the bed so we can cook or access items on the dovetail of the truck. A couple Harbor Freight magnets screwed to a powerstrip makes for nice storage on the roof of the box.

I am thinking of purchasing a 92 f350 4x4 with a 7.3 and a manual. I have a 12 valve I just finished rebuilding that I would want to drop in it. Where did you get your parts for the swap and do you have a thread on the engine swap?

Truck looks awesome and very similar to what I want to do with mine! Love my Jeep, but it's too small for my daily uses and can't fit the gear that I want to haul on my longer trips.

No build thread on the engine swap, there are enough of those out there, I purchased the motor mounts and tach ring from destroked. Everything else was either made or sourced locally. IIRC the 92 is a kingpin front axle too, mine is ball joint. I have a 100 series cruiser I was going to build up but I like the ability to stretch out and tow/haul anything and everything I may need. I have owned a lot of trucks and with the right suspension mods the OBS is hard to beat, even more so when it has a cummins in it. Mine started out as an auto which made the conversion even that much more complicated (electrically speaking) with the manual in yours already I would use the adapter plate and keep the zf5 over the nv4500.

Well this is the final set of pictures for the build stage of this trip. I have other drivetrain upgrades I want to do down the line like a front locker with 35 spline stubs and a superduty rear axle for disc brakes along with Hydra boost after the trip. Until then, enjoy.

Wow, looks great i think. We could definitely use some outside daytime photos. From what I see it is top notch.

Thanks so much! I passed on that last truck as it was BEAT up. Still looking to get an OBS and build it very similar to what you've done! Looks really clean and functional! Thanks for all the great ideas to spend my money!

I will try to get it out on Sunday and open it all up again since I want to put the sheets/blankets in it ahead of the trip and to install some LED's on a dimmer. There will be a ton of shots of it all over the woods in the next month or so.

Happy Independence Day from the Selkirk Mountains in the extreme northeastern corner of Washington from our family to yours. The shakedown run went without a hitch, some things I learned: My coffee maker and inverter do not get along so instant coffee is the fix, my shocks are not up to the task of keeping everything smooth so those will be upgraded after the trip since they are not in the budget, pouring water for everyone out of the water cans is not convenient so I am building one of those scepter can pump/faucet contraptions out of amazon.com parts and a new scepter lid I purchased online. I am sure all of you have seen it but this is what I am copying. I am also adding an additional blanket to the RTT as it was almost warm enough to be comfortable. The next set of pictures will be post birthday trip. :smiley_drive::safari-rig:
