I have also recently replaced the non working 4" back up lights with LEDs backup lights for rear work lights i just need some sort of work lights on the side of my trailer

I have 200 budgeted for the lighting and electrical system after i just bought a marine battery for the battery box

I got some cabinet LED lights from IKEA for my RTT and cut off the 110 converter, added a fuse, and wired them to a 12v plug. You could just string them together and wire into you trailer electrics. Relatively cheap and easy to do.

If you're ok waiting a couple weeks for shipping there are many ebay sellers in Asia that have incredible prices on all sorts of 12v LEDs. I picked up 4 good sized flood lights for under $30 each delivered. You can find lots of good solutions online for little money.

Go with the LED strip lights. You can get 20' rolls on Amazon, and cut down to your needs, and then cut more strips and connect with the connectors they provide.

I run a strip across my rear hatch on my Land Cruiser. It throws insane light for what they are, and as you said, have low amp draw.

I also came across some fancy little push button switches. Things are awesome for this kind of an application. I've posted both links below.

In the photo below, the ones across the awning are "warm white" and the hatch is "cool white." I swapped them both for plain jane white, as it just feels brighter/cleaner.

The local walmart has some decent looking light bars for $25-35 depending if you want one row or two. Made for vehicle driving lights but would make for nice side of the trailer task lighting ....I have a friend with them on his jeep, he says they throw a nice wide beam but don't penetrate far.

You can't really tell by a photo how bright any light is, a candle can be made to seem bright in the dark of night with a camera.....and notice how fast the light drops off so it would probably be just fine for a camp site.

Ok I found a waterproof roll of white LEDs on eBay for $9 and a touch dimmer for $5 and used it on my awning and I was surprised how bright it is. Dam I can't load pictures for some reason.

LED lights

I went with two pair of these from eBay and they seem super bright from my tests, gonna have them at waist level pointing out so we don't get blinded like we do from the Rigid Industries floods on my FJ. I will have them hooked up to this wireless switch so we can turn them on from anywhere around the campsite, including from atop the RTT in the middle of the night if we hear someone/something snooping around down there :)

The lights draw 18w, which isn't much and we don't plan on having them on all that often. I have some generic LED strips to put inside the trailer and those draw even less than these.
