DOT approved? I don't know but probably. Rated at 6000lbs

Ask the guys at adventure trailers, it's all they use on their builds.

X2, any first hand experience? I'm interested in one of these Max couplers but I'd like a consumer's point of view.

I've had one on my Adventure Trailer for a few years now with no troubles. Seems to handle anything the trail throws at it, and it's very quiet.

It is a little fussier to line up and connect compared to the Lock-n-Roll, but the old version of the LnR has a well known design flaw, and customer service from the LnR manufacturer has been spotty at times.

finally

getting back to building this camping trailer:

It's 6 1/2 feet wide, just over 12 feet long. Axles have been moved to the top of springs, new lubed spring bolts and heavy duty shackles and electric brakes installed.

More photos as progress continues. I had to stop last night as it was starting to rain and got dark!
